The tatreez and keffiyah embroidery tell a story. Common within Indigenous cultures, history and legacy are often woven into the fibers of traditional clothing. The tatreez in this piece speaks to the land Sarah’s grandmother is from. The keffiyah, traditionally worn as a symbol of resistance and identity, adds another layer of meaning, representing resilience and connection to cultural heritage.
